Christine’s adult fiction centers on teaching the history, beauty, and complexities of the African diaspora. She particularly enjoys unearthing rarely known or forgotten narratives and incorporating them into historical fiction and fantasy. Just as it is with children’s books, Christine believes that adult fiction and fantasy can be teaching tools for social change.

Christine’s first adult nonfiction, The Afrominimalist’s Guide to Living With Less, is a radical re-envisioning of minimalism as a sustainable lifestyle that encourages authenticity over aesthetics.
